Entrepreneur takes over pub

10:47am Saturday 4th December 2010

A POPULAR pub in York city centre has reopened after its previous owners went into voluntary insolvency.

The Ackhorne in St Martin’s Lane, off Micklegate, reopened last night. It had closed suddenly on November 25.

A few days later, a window was smashed in an attempted break-in.

Enterprise Inns has now taken back control of the premises, and local pub entrepreneur Pete Pendlebury was yesterday working to get it ready for business again.

He said it would be managed by Laura Larkin, currently of the Cock and Bottle in Skeldergate. He said the plan was to focus on Yorkshire real ales.
